The Lagos State University International School (LASUIS) has organised its *2026 Valedictory Service, End-of-Session Party and Prize-Giving Day*. The event was held on Saturday, 8th August 2026, at the Buba Marwa Auditorium, Main Campus, Ojo, Lagos. It was a colourful celebration of academic excellence, character, service and the transition of its graduating students into a new phase of life.‎‎

The ceremony witb the theme, *“Raising Visionary Leaders for a Changing World,”* and with the message, *“Celebrating Excellence, Honouring Service, Inspiring Futures,”* brought together the Chairman, LASUIS Board, Professor Babajide Gboyega *ABIDOGUN*; Guest Speaker, Honourable Ajoke *OBE*; members of the LASUIS Board, management, staff, parents, guardians, students and other distinguished guests.

The Acting Principal of LASU International School, Dr Muyideen *FASASI*, expressed appreciation to the parents, teachers and other stakeholders whose contributions had supported the academic and personal development of the students.‎‎Speaking at the occasion, the Chairman, LASUIS Board, Professor Babajide Gboyega *ABIDOGUN*, emphasised the importance of quality education, sound character and purposeful leadership in preparing young people to thrive in an ever-changing world. He congratulated the graduating students and commended the teachers and parents for their commitment to the students’ education and development.

‎A major highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of Awards of Academic Excellence and Achievement to the outstanding students for their exceptional academic performances. The presentation of the students’ UTME scores provided an opportunity to celebrate the school’s strong academic performance. In the 2025 UTME, all Fifty-Eight (58) LASUIS students who sat for the examination recorded high marks, with seven students scoring 300 and above and the highest score standing at an impressive *352*.‎

The ceremony also featured the Junior Secondary School (JSS) 3 Mathematics Award, recognition of the Most Outstanding Student(s) in each class and the Overall Best Student(s), with the recipients applauded for their hard work, discipline and commitment to academic excellence. LASUIS academic record has continued to attract commendation with the school’s previous records of 100 percent success rate in WAEC, BECE and NECO since 2019.

‎‎Delivering the Special Lecture, the Guest Speaker, Honourable Ajoke *OBE*, who is a former Vice-Chairman, Agbado-Oke-Odo Local Council Development Area, encouraged the graduating students to remain focused, embrace discipline and make responsible choices as they progress to the next stage of their educational journey.

Honourable *OBE*, used the platform to inspire the students to see education not merely as a pathway to personal success, but as a tool for making meaningful contributions to society.‎‎

The ceremony also featured a welcome song and choral presentation by the students, showcasing the talents and creativity nurtured within the school. The cultural display was another major attraction of the event, as students took the audience on a colourful journey through Igbo, Yoruba and Hausa traditions. The cultural presentation was complemented by Spoken Word Presentation, Dialogue Presentation and Choreography.

The school used the occasion to honour members of staff who distinguished themselves through dedication and service. The Staff Excellence and Service Awards recognised the Best Teacher in Each Department, as well as the Overall Best Staff of the Year 2026. In addition, students who distinguished themselves beyond academic performance were recognised under the Character, Conduct and Special Recognition Awards. The categories included awards for well-behaved students, punctuality, as well as the best-dressed and neatest students. The awards reinforced the school’s emphasis on the development of well-rounded students, where academic achievement is complemented by good conduct, discipline, personal responsibility and character. The graduating students also had the opportunity to reflect on their experiences at LASUIS through speeches delivered by the Head Boy, Ayomide *OSABIYA* and Head Girl, Femifola *AWOSUSI*. They both expressed appreciation to the school management, teachers, parents and colleagues for their roles in their educational journey.

The presentation of the new prefects was another significant moment of the ceremony, symbolising the transfer of leadership and responsibility to a new generation of student leaders. The new prefects were charged to lead by example, serve with integrity and uphold the values of Lagos State University International School (LASUIS).‎‎The vote of thanks was delivered by the Chairman, End-of-Session Committee, Mr Taiwo *OLASUNKANMI*

‎The 2026 Valedictory Service was, therefore, not merely a farewell ceremony for the graduating students, but a celebration of the collective efforts that had shaped their journey through LASU International School.‎‎
