Tunde *ADEOLA* is an accomplished Nigerian banking executive with over 30 years of experience spanning merchant banking, commercial banking, and institutional banking leadership across Nigeria’s financial services sector.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Lagos State University (1988) and a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from the University of Lagos (1999). He is an Honorary Member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria and has attended several executive education programmes, including training at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
He began his banking career at Liberty Merchant Bank Limited (1990–1995), before joining Kakawa Discount House as a pioneer staff member, contributing to its foundational operations between 1995 and 2002.
In 2002, he joined Trust Bank, where he managed funding across diverse market segments including the public sector, small and medium enterprises, niche markets, personal finance, and non-bank financial institutions. His performance earned him promotion to Assistant General Manager in 2004 and Deputy General Manager in 2007.
Following the banking consolidation exercise and the emergence of Sterling Bank in 2006, he joined the institution and held several senior leadership roles. These included Head of the Telecoms and Corporate Banking Group, Regional Business Executive overseeing 33 branches in Lagos, General Manager in 2013, and Business Executive, Commercial & Institutional Banking, Ikeja & Beyond in 2015.
He currently serves as Executive Director, Commercial & Institutional Banking at Sterling Bank, where he oversees the bank’s commercial and institutional banking portfolio, with a focus on growth, strategic client relationships, and sustainable business expansion.Throughout his career, he has been recognised for his expertise in corporate banking, strategic business leadership, financial intermediation, and institutional relationship management within Nigeria’s financial services sector.
