    The major duties of these units include, but are not limited to, the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. ADMINISTRATIVE UNIT<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      • Oversees the smooth running of the Centre
        Head: Mrs Oluwayemisi Thomas-Onashile, Deputy Regitrar\/Coordinator, CIPR<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

        1. DIGITAL COMMUNICATION UNIT
          \u2022 Manages all official social media platforms of the University, such as Instagram, X, Facebook, TikTok, Threads, YouTube, and LinkedIn.
          \u2022 Disseminates official information across the social media platforms.
          \u2022 Creates content that enhances the image of the University.
          \u2022 Builds followership and creates publicity for the University\u2019s programmes.
          \u2022 Develops communication strategies for campaigns, projects, and events in the University.
          \u2022 Keeps up with the latest advancements in digital communication technologies and trends.
          \u2022 Ensures the smooth functioning, optimisation, and management of all official University digital channels.
          \u2022 Interacts and engages with the University\u2019s publics and stakeholders.
          \u2022 Aggregates feedback from the University\u2019s publics.
          \u2022 Creates and stores multimedia content of the University on relevant official digital platforms.
          \u2022 Tracks media coverage of the University to assess public perception and address inaccuracies or negative publicity.
          \u2022 Live-streams and provides live reports University events on relevant social media platforms, as necessary.

          1. INFORMATION AND EVENTS UNIT
            \u2022 Anchoring, coverage and reportage of University events.
            \u2022 Drafts\/compiles content for bulletin stories.
            \u2022 Production and circulation of the University\u2019s official bulletin (physical and soft copies).
            \u2022 Prepares the schedule for the Centre for Information and Public Relations (CIPR) weekly radio programme at LASU Radio.
            \u2022 Documentation and archiving of all University events for institutional records.
            \u2022 Manages seating arrangements and labelling at events.
            \u2022 Collaborates with the Protocol Unit, Vice-Chancellor\u2019s Office, and the University Ceremonies Committee to plan and organise relevant aspects of University events.
            \u2022 Collaborates with the Digital Communication Unit to ensure adequate dissemination of information via digital channels.
            \u2022 Sources information from invited officials and guests for proper recognition at University events.

          2. MEDIA RELATIONS UNIT
            \u2022 Anchoring, coverage and reportage of University events.
            \u2022 Builds, manages, and maintains relationships between the University and traditional media (Traditional Print, Radio, Electronic Print Media, and Television).
            \u2022 Extends invitations to journalists for coverage of University events.
            \u2022 Arranges for representatives of the University to be interviewed by the media.
            \u2022 Enhances the University\u2019s image and reputation through strategic communication.
            \u2022 Ensures accurate and timely dissemination of information.
            \u2022 Processes University advertorials for newspaper publications.
            \u2022 Organises press conferences in collaboration with other units in the Centre.
            \u2022 Manages public statements and media responses to protect the University\u2019s reputation during potential or real crisis situations.
            \u2022 Drafts press releases and statements.
            \u2022 Collaborates with the Digital Communication Unit to ensure consistent messaging across official digital platforms.
            \u2022 Ensures that all media communications align with the University\u2019s values and brand.
            \u2022 Reviews newspapers for Lagos State University-related stories.
            \u2022 Creates jingles for University events.
